SMALL BUSINESS NETWORK
Small Business Network (SBN) is a thriving community of entrepreneurs and small businesses based in South West London. It provides a platform for connection, mentoring and growth through monthly in-person networking events and an always-on digital community. Launched during lockdown, the network quickly gained momentum, evolving into a well-recognised and valued community across South London.
When I began working with the founder, the brand existed in its most basic form - just a name and a single colour. There was a clear opportunity to create a more cohesive and strategic identity that reflected the energy, purpose, and ambition of the network. Working closely with my client, I helped shape the brief and developed a full brand model, including vision, mission, and values, key messaging, and a complete visual identity system. This included logo design, colour palette, typography, and imagery direction

THE LOGO & COLOUR PALETTE
The logo concept is built around the idea of growth through connection. The acronym SBN offers a simple, memorable shorthand for the network’s longer name.
Each letter is housed within a series of building blocks that rise progressively - representing small businesses developing step by step, supported by the community around them.
The colour palette combines rich orange and rust tones with deep blue, creating a modern, urban feel that reflects the energy and diversity of South West London

BRAND BOOK & &ASSETS
The brand strategy and visual identity were brought together into a comprehensive brand book.
This includes clear guidance on logo usage, colour palette, typography, imagery style, and layout principles, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints. The document also captures the network’s vision, mission, values, and tone of voice—providing a strong foundation for future growth and communication.
